About the Writer
Hi, I'm Allan McDonald. I was born on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. I grew up first in Port Elizabeth, then in Cape Town, South Africa.
Today, I am still growing up in McGregor, a small village on the fringes of The Karoo semi-desert region of South Africa.
I have a background in advertising, music, radio, documentary-making, trouble-making and, most importantly, today, I am the father of four beautiful adult children, all abundantly creative and loving souls.
Living alone in a small village, there's not much for me to do but write.
Although my original reason for moving here has shifted and drifted behind me, life here is a hot blank page thirsting for the softening flood of ideas. I enjoy that my writing streams in different directions; it doesn't pool in one style or genre.
But I don't think about that much. When the words are flowing, they take their course for a reason. And that's good enough for me.
I hope it's good enough for you too. Please feel free to reach out and say hi.
